Microwave-assisted synthesis and enhanced photocatalytic performance of Bi2O2CO3 nanoplates

The Bi2O2CO3 (BOC) samples were successfully synthesized by a microwave-assisted method at different microwave powers and lengths of irradiation time. as-synthesized characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission (TEM), photoluminescence (PL) UV–visible spectroscopy. analytical results demonstrated that the sample 600 W power for 60 min was highly pure nanoplates with energy band gap 3.16 eV. Photocatalytic efficiencies all BOC investigated through degradation methyl orange (MO) induced UV radiation. have highest photocatalytic activity in degrading MO ?O2? active radical. mechanisms also proposed explained this research. are very stable reusable within five-cycle test.
